AMBRE: (Taste: 10 years) Aged in old casks, Ambre has little tannin. Its color is golden, with a light and delicate nose. Aromas of flowers, oranges and a hint of vanilla highlight this cognac. RESERVE: (Taste: 20 years) A complex and full-bodied cognac, Reserve has a fine gold color and is very fruity and round, with a slightly vanilla flavor. The aroma is like fresh picked grapes at the harvest. |
SELECTION DES ANGES: (Taste: 30 years) This fully mature cognac is named after the evaporation in cognac called the "Angel's Share". It has a lingering finish and rich, mellow flavor, with hints of vanilla and licorice. Old gold in color, it unveils thick, rich, musky, spicy flavors. |

ABEL: (Taste: 45 years) Sold in limited quantity, this cognac was named after the cellarmaster who distilled it. Abel is a very old cognac, ruby-gold in color, with an incomparably subtle and delicate Bouquet that can only come from long aging in oak cask. The lingering aroma and flavor of this superb product can last as long as 10 minutes on the palate. |

ANCESTRALE : (Taste: 70 years) The cellarmaster who created the cognac known as Pierre Ferrand Ancestrale, Grande Champagne has long since been dead, but his legacy lives on in this very old cognac, prized by connoisseurs. Usually very old cognacs are integrated in very small quantities into younger cognacs in order to improve them and make them taste older. At Pierre Ferrand, we do not believe in extensive blending and manipulation of our cognacs, preferring to guard the integrity of the product. This philosophy is applied to Ancestrale, and as a result it is one of the rare cognacs to be sold this way. |

No more than 300 bottles of Ancestrale are released each year. It is drawn from the cask by hand, bottle after bottle. Each bottle is rinsed with a bit of Ancestrale before being filled. This may seem like a small point, but it means that this outstanding cognac remains pure and true to its type. Ancestrale is labeled and waxed by hand and is bottled on order. |
| COGNAC BRUT DE FUT - DIRECT FROM THE CASK (Taste: 25 Year) - Cask strength Cognac. |
|
| It is well known that no two casks of cognac are alike, not even from
the same cellar or vintage. At Cognac Ferrand,
we age all our cognacs separately, we can select some of our best casks
each year and bottle them without any blending or reduction. Called "BRUT
DE FUT" or "Direct from the Cask", the pure, strong flavor of the individual
cognac is kept intact and is not reduced by addition of water. |

| Each bottle is numbered and carries the cask number and
number of bottles produced from that cask. Some cognac lovers like to
choose their own casks, and then have them bottled by Cognac
Ferrand. With Brut de Fût, it is recommended that a small amount of pure, non-chlorinated low mineral content or distilled water be added just before tasting to bring out the maximum flavor and aroma. |

PIERRE FERRAND MEMOIRES : Cognac Pierre Ferrand will release its special Mémoire Vintage Edition in time for the countdown to the next century. Only 2,000 bottles of each of the three vintages - 1962, 1965, 1968 - will be released worldwide. The heavy glass bottle with a deep punt is etched with the words "Cognac Pierre Ferrand" and "Mémoire". A hand-written parchment label shows the vintage. Each small lot has been certified by a "Huissier de Justice", the most respected level of authentication under French law. Each bottle is numbered and signed by the cellarmaster and comes in a dark mahogany box adorned with an etched brass plate. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each bottle. |

Cognac Ferrand maintains stocks of vintage cognacs in bonded warehouses. These strategic stocks are normally used as part of the blends and are periodically tasted to evaluate their evolution. After a recent tasting, partners Alexandre Gabriel and Jean Dominique Andreu, together with their cellarmaster Patrick Giudicelli, deemed 5 casks of each of these three vintages worthy of bottling as a single vintage cognac. Grande Champagne cognacs usually reach their prime at around 30 – 50 years of age. When we tasted these three vintages we knew that we had three absolutely superlative, memorable cognacs. VINTAGE DATING IN COGNAC Until recently the only way to buy vintage dated cognac was to purchase “early landed” stock. This way young spirits, shipped in casks from Cognac and aged in England. For the consumer, it was important to know two things – was the spirit matured under optimum conditions and when was it bottled. (Cognac does not develop once it is placed in glass.) In 1989, Cognac regulation has changed allowing Cognac to be vintage
dated. In order to be eligible for this designation, the cognac must
be stored away from other stocks under a double lock system (bonded
warehouse). The proprietor can only enter accompanied by an official
who holds the second key. |

PIERRE FERRAND CIGARE: (Taste: 25 Years) Pierre Ferrand, world renowned for its fine 100% Grande Champagne cognacs, is introducing a special cognac to complement a superior smoke : Pierre Ferrand Cigar Blend, Reserve Havana. "We wanted a cognac that is in balance with a structured cigar. This cognac works well because of the inherent structure of Grande Champagne cognacs", explains Ferrand's Jean-Dominique Andreu, an avid cigar smoker himself. For six years, they have been the sole cognac suppliers to the prestigious Club des Parlermentaires Amateurs de Havane, which counts among its members France's top politicians. |
